Reaching in without unpacking
A front open carry on luggage design lets the traveller take out a laptop or documents at a security desk without laying the case flat and opening the main shell. On this model the compartment sits behind a leather-faced panel with its own closure, so the main packing stays as it was.
What fits in the pocket
The compartment is sized for a laptop, a tablet and flat documents. Buyers specifying carry on luggage with a laptop pocket usually confirm the sleeve dimensions against the machine sizes their market carries, and we set that against your drawing before the sample.
The trade against a plain shell
A front pocket carry on luggage weighs more than the same shell without one, and this build is 4.8 kg against 3.6 kg for the plain 20 inch model. The panel also changes the branding surface, since a logo can go on the metal, on the leather, or on both.
What we can change
This shell already has tooling, so a branded run starts without a mould charge. Everything below is specified per order.
Logo and artwork
Laser engraving, UV printing, silk screen or embossing. The method is chosen to suit the surface finish, and there is no tooling charge to brand an existing shell.
Surface finish
Brushing, sandblasting, anodizing, electrophoresis, spray coating, PVD and etching. A scratch- and fingerprint-resistant coat can be added on top.
Colour
Matched to your specification rather than limited to the stock list. Stock colours for this model are shown in the table above.
Lining and interior
EVA, nylon or PU lining, with compression straps, divider, zip pocket or a fitted insert built to your drawing.
Hardware
Lock, wheels, corner guards and trolley handle can all be changed. Casters are available detachable on request.
Packaging and size
Gift box, printed carton and carton marking to your artwork. Sizes outside the standard range are quoted against new tooling.
Custom Front Pocket Programs
Three routes, depending on how much of the case you need changed.
Logo only, from 50 pcs
The shell, the panel and the finish stay as they are and only your mark goes on. Laser engraving on the metal, or debossing and foil on the leather. A logo sample takes about 7 days.
Full program, from 300 pcs
Panel material, shell colour, lining, hardware and packaging specified by you on tooling that already exists. This is the usual route for a hard shell carry on luggage with front pocket built under your own label, and there is no mould charge on it.
New shell, from 1,000 pcs
A different pocket geometry, or a shell shape that does not exist yet, needs its own tooling. CAD takes about 7 days from your drawing and the tooling about 30 days.

Metal + Leather
The front pocket is a separate sub-assembly: a leather-faced door on its own frame, hinged and locked independently of the main shell. Joining two materials on one case means the frame, gasket line and hardware all have to be cut for both, which is why this style carries its own tooling.

Is the front compartment separate from the main shell?
Yes. It has its own closure behind the leather-faced panel, so a front opening carry on luggage of this type opens at the front without disturbing the main packing.
Does a laptop fit in the front pocket?
The compartment is built for a laptop, a tablet and flat documents. Sleeve dimensions are set against your drawing before the sample runs, so a carry on luggage with laptop pocket can be sized to the machines your market carries.
How much does it weigh?
4.8 kg in the standard wholesale build at 20 inch. The plain aluminum 20 inch model is 3.6 kg, and the difference is the front panel and its frame.
Can the front panel be something other than leather?
Yes. The panel material is specified per order. It is the part of this model buyers change most often, along with the shell colour.
Does this model come in sizes above 20 inch?
This shell runs at 20 inch. Larger sizes are quoted against new tooling rather than adapted from it.
Why two locks instead of one?
The main shell and the front compartment each close on their own TSA combination lock, so the front pocket can be opened without releasing the main case.
What is the minimum order?
300 pieces per model for a full program on this shell. 50 pieces if the only change is your logo on the existing build. 1,000 pieces if the shell needs its own new mould.
